Sheriff Juan J. Figueroa of the Ulster County (New York) Sheriff’s Department discusses his office's Opioid Response as County Law Enforcement (ORACLE) initiative, the county jail's medication-assisted treatment program, and partnering with organizations and agencies in the community to help people start the recovery journey. Sheriff Figueroa stated, “Reaching out to the community to get people into recovery has really changed the way our community looks at us as law enforcement and the stigma that we have when we show up at a scene.”
