2023 OFR National Forum: Concurrent Session 2: OFR in Action: Urban Communities


This session includes four presentations that focus on urban communities. This session includes information on how to create a Public Health and Safety Team (PHAST) structure that brings together a population-level and case-level analyses to create incremental system level change. Information will be shared on the importance of using naloxone as a resource for people who use any substance, as well as identifying strategies through OFR subcommittees to address grief experienced by family members who lost their loved ones to overdose. Lastly, this session provides information on how to consider cultural values, beliefs, and assumptions when implementing overdose fatality reviews in diverse communities.
