Innovative Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Response to Overdoses: Beyond Naloxone

While lifesaving interventions are critical, some EMS agencies have been able to implement additional measures to help break the cycle of addiction.

After viewing the panel presentation, participants will be able to:

• Identify a variety of non-traditional responses by EMS agencies to the overdose epidemic.
• Explain how a Quick Response Team (QRT) can add to the care EMS can provide to those with opioid use disorder.
• Identify one or more barriers to implementing innovative EMS responses to overdose patients.
