Addressing the Opioid Crisis Through Public Health and Safety Partnerships—A Spotlight On Three Initiatives

The opioid crisis has greatly impacted many communities across the country and requires multidisciplinary collaboration among systems to adequately address it. Two key partnerships in this response are between public health and public safety who are on the front lines of the crisis. This webinar will highlight three initiatives that demonstrate effective health and safety partnerships and will also identify critical elements common to all three that could assist jurisdictions in their implementation locally.

The webinar will feature three panelists discussing the Public Health and Safety Teams (PHAST), Overdose Fatality Review (OFR), and Pre-arrest Deflection initiatives. Panelists will describe the goals and purpose of each initiative, how the common critical elements apply, and will discuss the complementary nature of each to initiate or enhance the other.  The webinar will conclude with a Q & A session with the attendees.
